Tracy Lloyd Introduction - Hello from Snowy Nelson, BC, Canada

Hi everyone.  I'm really looking forward to getting started in EDTECH 513.  My background is mainly in design (i.e. graphic design, digital signage ad design, interior design) with my most recent interest and focus being instructional design.  I became interested in instructional design while working as a graphic designer for an online organization that provides e-learning for people with disabilities who want to gain some web design skills and/or start a new business.  In addition to providing graphics for the courses and website, I also became involved in editing the courses.  It was this experience that led me to Boise State and the EDTECH program.  I also have an interest in online teaching and will be adding the teaching certificate to my degree.

I have been slowly plugging along one or two courses at a time since 2009 and will be finished my last course this summer.  I am currently working on my portfolio at the same time as EDTECH 513 although I'm wondering if I should have waited so that I can incorporate some of the artifacts from this course as well.  I'll try to slip at least one project in.

I live with my husband and daughter in beautiful Nelson, BC, Canada located in the South Eastern corner of British Columbia.  Nelson is knows for its amazing powder snow and this year is no exception.  If you ever get up to Nelson you need to stop by our local hill, Whitewater, for some great powder skiing.

  1. Great to be in another class with you Tracy. I look forward to seeing more of your mad design skills in this multimedia course.

Looks like I am going to have to head north for some powder -- not a lot of snow here in Idaho this year :(

  6. Hi Lana. Hmmm...I don't know why that happened either. No worries...it just makes my post look more popular than it is, lol.

I enjoyed your work in 512 too and will enjoy seeing your artistic flair applied to the projects here in 513. It should be another fun semester :)

    1. Hmmm. It's strange that it wouldn't allow me to add a comment directly, but it allowed me to reply to this post.

In any case, I appreciated your comment about incorporating artifacts from this class into the portfolio. I considered completing the portfolio in the Spring so that I could graduate in May, but I realized that a large portion of the artifacts that I intend to include will come from this class. Even though it caused me to lose some of my GI Bill benefit, I decided to take this class alone in the spring, use the summer semester to complete some additional projects for work, and then complete the portfolio in the fall.

Good on you for knocking them out together.
