Hello from So. California!
Hi, My name is Allison Yager, and I teach second grade at a performing arts/technology magnet school. I love integrating multimedia into my curriculum when feasible. I use Moodle for my LMS. Half of my homework and centers are online. I would be happy to share how I use Moodle in my elementary classroom. The students love accessing their work through Moodle. I find that my students are engaged in both their traditional and online work. I think that the combination of both online and traditional work keep things interesting. I am continually looking for new methods to improve my online presence. When I saw that this class was an option I jumped at the chance of learning new methods of adding multimedia into my existing brick and mortar classroom. I have used digital storytelling while using Photostory. It's easy to use, and the students really enjoy it. I subscribe to quite a few podcasts, and have wanted to try out podcasting with my class. This class will definitely provide the opportunity for trying it out. This is my last semester as I am finishing my portfolio this May as well. I look forward to learning new technologies as well as viewing all of your projects this semester. The picture above was taken on my last year spring break road trip to BSU. It was my first trip to Boise, and I was amazed at the blue field.

Hi Allison! I am jealous of where you live (at least at this time of year)! Boise can get really cold, but not so much this year. I am very interested in your experience teaching a blended model of online and traditional learning. I believe this is best, but I don't have much experience with it with my profession. I will take a look up Photostory because I have no experience with digital storytelling, but want to learn more! Thanks again for sharing your experiences and I know I will enjoy learning with you this semeter! - Kara
