Dana Litwornia - Intro

Hi, I am currently teaching an after school program called Bricks for Kidz. The class starts with a lesson on math, science or history and we then create a Lego model on the lesson. The models have gears, motors, and remote controls. Its quite an amazing program and allows me the time I need for school and motherhood! I have an eleven year old son whom I raise alone, he is wonderful!

Last year I finished my BA in Elementary Education after a long career as a professional skier, That job took me around the world and back. I retired from skiing in 1999 as becoming a mother became my priority. I still coach skiing, snowboarding and tele skiing on occasion and have still found time to guide a trip down the Grand Canyon this past March. I have lived on Mt. Hood Oregon, Vermont and Alaska, however I am now “stuck” in ‘Dirty Jerzi’ ha! This is my home state and its close to mom and dad!

Besides that, I have been working in Europe as a photographer for an Atlas on Wine. I just got back last week after spending several weeks in the South of France, Germany and Belgium.

I am taking this class to help me learn how to utilize multimedia in a more effective way in the classroom. I hope to learn about podcast and how to use my new microphone!

Cheers!
Dana

  1. Nice to meet you Dana. I have a friend who has a similar job in Colorado. I think her's is called Play Well Teknologies. What a nice place to work as a photographer!

  3. Hey Jerzi,

I am certainly no "pro" but I love snowboarding and outdoor play (triathlons too) in general -- so, it is great to hear about your background in the competitive skiing world. I am also excited to see your photography skills applied to mulitmedia.

Cheers to you and your son -- nice to meet you.

  4. Seems you have a few pretty cool things going on. Your photography could probably be integrated into multimedia presentations. You might also be able to turn the lego projects into a multimedia thing as well. I'm sure my 7 year-old daughter would be into the Brinks4Kids program - that sounds really neat.
