I live in Boise, Idaho. I have a husband, a thirteen year old daughter and a ten year old son. I worked for the State of Idaho for twenty years and then my position as a systems analyst supervisor was contracted to a private company. I went back to school to become a certified special education teacher and realized I like working with technology and online courses more than a classroom. I have two more courses and the portfolio before I am finished with the MET program.
When I have examined the job postings for online instructional design positions, many of the companies have expressed the requirement of multimedia knowledge. I am hopeful that this course will cover the multimedia knowledge that companies are requiring.
I am looking forward to creating a podcast and the digital story telling, these will be useful in developing online courses. The direction that I would like to use my MET degree is in developing online adult education courses for skills used for a particular job. The knowledge that I will gain from this course will help in designing online courses that are engaging for learners.
