Canvas Power User Podcast
- The target audience for this podcast is instructors and those
associated with instruction, or others who use Canvas (the campus
learning management system) for non-course based purposes such as
training or accreditation. Our campus is presently transitioning to
Canvas, with a full cut over planned for May 2012 (this summer
semester). These podcast episodes will function as another
resource for users to learn more about Canvas, and to stay connected
with the latest information. The podcasts will be relatively short, in an effort to maximize the user base of busy faculty, who
might otherwise not commit the time to a longer format podcast. Each
episode will begin with an introduction, a short segment on the latest
news and information on the Canvas transition process, a topical segment, a Canvas quick-tip segment, and closing remarks.
First Episode Description
Introducing Canvas, You’re New LMS-
This first issue of the Canvas Power User podcast introduces the
listener to the goals of the podcast and also gives them a short
synopsis of LMS transition information. Following the news segment, the
main segment discusses the piloting phase of the recent LMS search
process and the timeline that was followed, leading to the selection of
Canvas as the next campus LMS. Key features and tools of Canvas will be
highlighted, with each being reviewed more fully in future podcast
episodes. The final segment is the "Canvas Quick Tip" which highlights a key feature of the Canvas LMS (notification preferences in this episode).
Fantastic!
