Chioma's Introduction

Hi! My name is Chioma Umunakwe and I am a Kindergarten teacher in Atlanta, Georgia. I love being able to work with my students and watch their little light bulbs turn on. I would love to incorporate more technology in the classroom environment. I hope that I will one day be in the position to coordinate putting items like Ipads in the classroom. I am really excited to be a part of this program and learn the different uses of various technologies in the world around us. I want to open up my horizons career wise and grow into the person that I am meant to be.

Hello from MelissaM

Every time I look at the available electives for EdTech at Boise State I always choose different ones depending on my mood.  Only one course appears on every list of courses I've desperately wanted to take and that is Multimedia.  I'm very interested in livening up the presentation of course content to attempt to engage students who are really just not interested in learning history.  I think history courses need to be more accessible and explored at a different level than just memorizing names, dates, and battles.  I think the stories can become much more personal, the decisions much more relevant, and the material much more interactive.

I think redesigning the content and presenting it in more lively, original ways can make it more engaging to even the most bored students.  I want to give students the opportunity to explore topics in ways they feel most comfortable, then try new methods and gain skills using technology in a learning environment.

I'm looking forward to learning more about how to use the latest tools of the trade so that I can create more exciting and involving lessons that will actively engage students and get them to really begin thinking about the lifestyles, problems, and decisions made in cultures very different from their own.  The more ways students can interact with the material, the more they can make the knowledge their own.

L. Cmunt Intro

Hello everyone! I am taking this course because I want to learn how to integrate more types of multimedia into my Family and Consumer Science classroom. Finding new pieces of technology and software helps me keep my high schoolers engaged and learning in ways they didn't think previously possible. I hope to gain a better understanding of these types of multimedia and find fun ways to incorporate them into my students' daily learning.

Greetings!

Greetings to all,

My name is Aggie and I live and work in Moorpark, CA. Moorpark is a subburb of Los Angeles and is about 40 miles from downtown on the way to Santa Barbara. I teach third grade at a Performing Arts and Technology Magnet public school. Working at this school allows me to incorporate what I learn each week in my classes at Boise State into my regular class room.
I am most proud of the direction my job is going. I have incorporated moodle into my class and it use weekly as the LMS for my online assignments. My third grade students turn in spelling homework here, get their online math assignments here, and their most favorite activity attend moodle centers twice a week where I am able to differentiate learning for all.
If I am not at work or online for my classes I can usually be found, in the garden, in the kitchen, or on a hike with my husband and two dogs. We have two children who attend Chico State college in northern CA.
I am excited for this semester and looking forward to learning new ways to use multimedia.

Bushong - Introduction

My name is Douglas Bushong.  I'm an instructional designer for a local utility.

The multimedia course is my last course before the portfolio in the MET program, though it was one of the first courses that I selected from the list of electives.  I have already taken YouTube for Educators, Introduction to Edutainment, and all of my core courses.  I did this mainly because I wanted to spend more time developing some of the skills for this class before taking it.

As I look over the syllabus and schedule, I'm pleased to see that many of the things we are doing in this class are things that I've done before in the program.  This means that I can focus less of my time on the scramble of learning something completely foreign and more on learning the details of the tools we are using.  With that in mind, my goal in this class is to polish my skill set, gain exposure to new multimedia tools, and learn any tips and tricks that I can from those more experienced than me.

Based on the class bios, we have an excellent combination of skill sets to draw from.  I think this will be a good experience.

Hello!

Hello!
My name is Andrea Schurg and I am just over halfway through the BSU Ed Tech program. I live in Dillon, Montana with husband and two teenagers. My goal after earning my master's is to become a professor at the University of Montana Western (located here in Dillon) teaching future educators how to integrate technology in the classroom.
When I am not studying, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, following my kids in all of their activities, playing volleyball and softball, and quilting.
I am really looking forward to Multimedia course!
Hello All,
I'm Michael DiFelice and as of now I reside in Nampa Idaho. This is my 4th semester in the MET program and I am totally enjoying the new knowledge I have gained. Although I am familiar with the various forms of multimedia I know very little of the creation aspect. I hope, with the knowledge gained, that I will be able to create better websites and lessons incorporating various forms of media. I am currently trying to get settled in  my new home of 3 weeks and wonder how one person can accumulate so much stuff. I will certainly feel better when things are in their place and I can concentrate more thoroughly on my studies. I am not presently teaching but hope to do some substituting and tutoring in the near future.
I look forward to working with everyone.

Hello Everyone

Hello everyone. I reside in Anderson, South Carolina. Thus far we've involved a very warm winter much like the weather in Starkville that I read about. I currently serve as the AP of Instruction at a middle school in one of the largest school districts in South Carolina. Over my career I have taught math and science. I am a graduate of Clemson University and currently attend all Clemson football and basketball games. I am very excited about this class. I love the curriculum and I continue to use much of what I learn with my faculty as we move toward the development of a magnet status in a district that is shifting toward choice. I think this class will help me develop our message and the methodologies will assist my school in further multimedia instruction in the classroom setting.

Greetings from Western Mass

Hi everyone,

Peter B-G here. It's great to be sharing this blog space with all of you. I've been looking forward to taking this class since I first saw it in the EDTECH course catalog. Like most EDTECH classes, it promises a healthy mix of theory and practice. I'm looking forward to dabbling in both familiar and unfamiliar multimedia technologies this semester, and hope that with the knowledge we can acquire about how people learn, we'll be able to create multimedia content that's both engaging and effective.

I am in my eighth year of teaching high school English and Journalism. Over the years I've been acquiring classroom computers. I now have 25 workstations in my room (17 PCs and 8 netbooks), so I've really been able to apply cloud and social media tools (Google Docs, Blogger, Twitter, YouTube) into my pedagogy. It's still a work in progress, and there are usually weekly glitches we need to overcome, but I feel that as a whole, my students and I are able to be more productive because of the way we've integrated technology into the classroom.

Below is a vocabulary video I created earlier in the year as an exemplar for a new assignment designed to teach vocabulary in a meaningful way. While the students have done a nice job creating their own videos, part of me thinks the assignment could benefit from some refinement, so the videos max out at one minute, rather than two. I'm optimistic that I'll learn something this semester that will give me insights into how I can make this assignment (and others) more effective.

P.S. Before I read about this assignment, I posted comments on most of your profiles on the Moodle page. This looks like a great mix of students. I'm especially excited to have a couple of English teachers as colleagues this semester. I look forward to learning about ways you've integrated EDTECH into your curriculum, and hopefully trying out some of your ideas in my own classroom. Cheers!

Hey!

I'm Jahan Borjian.  This is my fourth year of teaching 4th grade in Boise.  I am taking this course because I feel it is very important to become more knowledgeable in the area of educational technology.  There is so much more information readily available now than in the past, and so many new ways to help student learn that information.  To help students learn to the best of their ability it is important to utilize all the tools at our disposal. I would love to start using more technology in my classroom and use a website to use for homework and differentiated instruction.  I hope that taking this course will help me with this.

Hello from Brasil!

Hi, I'm João Mattar and teach at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi in São Paulo, Brasil (in Portuguese written with an "s"). I am also a PhD advisor at TIDD - PUC-SP, a program on Technology Intelligences and Digital Design.

I have 2 boys (last New Year's Eve).

I have been researching and writing a lot about Distance Education and have several books published, such as Games em Educação:

You can practice your Portuguese with this long interview on the topic:

I have already taken all the classes I officially need to at Boise, but since the beginning I wanted to take this one to put theory into practice and produce multimedia courseware, what I am actually doing and plan to continue to do.

Have a great quarter!
Hello,

I work at Messiah College in Grantham, PA. We offer 6 online graduate programs and an undergraduate summer online session. Our online courses began in 2008 with our first undergraduate summer session. We have come a long way over the past four years!

I believe that multimedia has the potential to transform a course from good to great. I'm taking this course to learn the best methods and approaches to adding multimedia to online courses.

Still waiting for winter to come to PA - Susan Shannon

Hello!! Welcome to class!

Hi,

I live in Starkville, MS, and am enjoying the rather warm weather we have been having here!
This is my third semester in the EdTech program, and I am learning so many new teaching tools that it is almost overwhelming to think that I haven't even scratched the surface.  I am an accountant/head of employee training for five family owned businesses, and I am already finding many ways to sneak tech applications into the training of new employees.  Love it!

I am excited to tackle podcasts during this course...and I am looking forward to enhancing my "bag of tricks" in regards to multimedia use in the education process.
I hope to run a multimedia arts center for youth, and I think this course will be informative and enlightening...I predict having a lot of fun as well!

Haley

Hi class! Noah Kadre

My name is Shamsuddin Kadre, but I go by Noah.  I love the potential of incorporating multimedia into learning.  I am taking this class to improve my skills in doing so, and hope it will help me to offer my students the greatest chance for learning to occur.
I also play music with my band Stellar Tide.  That's me in the middle and my wife Venus on bass.  This is a show from last weekend at the Reef in Boise!

Kara Godfrey Intro

Greetings! My name is Kara Godfrey and this is my 5th class in the Edtech program at BSU. I have been involved in the technical writing arena for more than 22 years and wanted to learn more about using technology to teach others. In my current job we translate our web documents to 35+ languages, so we have been moving forward with animations with less words and more graphics. That is working out well with the customers. I am taking this class to learn more about creating multimedia learning programs that use less words and more graphics. But, I'd like to learn more about why the use of multimedia is effective for more than just reducing localization costs. That's what I want to learn about in this class.

Hello from So. California!

Hi, My name is Allison Yager, and I teach second grade at a performing arts/technology magnet school.  I love integrating multimedia into my curriculum when feasible.  I use Moodle for my LMS. Half of my homework and centers are online. I would be happy to share how I use Moodle in my elementary classroom.  The students love accessing their work through Moodle.   I find that my students are engaged in both their traditional and online work. I think that the combination of both online and traditional work keep things interesting.  I am continually looking for new methods to improve my online presence.  When I saw that this class was an option I jumped at the chance of learning new methods of adding multimedia into my existing brick and mortar classroom. I have used digital storytelling while using Photostory.  It's easy to use, and the students really enjoy it.  I subscribe to quite a few podcasts, and have wanted to try out podcasting with my class.  This class will definitely provide the opportunity for trying it out.   This is my last semester as I am finishing my portfolio this May as well.  I look forward to learning new technologies as well as viewing all of your projects this semester. The picture above was taken on my last year spring break road trip to BSU.  It was my first trip to Boise, and I was amazed at the blue field.

J. Humes Introduction

Hello, my name is Jody Humes and I'm from San Francisco. I teach English at Carlmont high school in Belmont to grades 9-11. The majority of my students are enrolled in the school's business and technology academy program. Fun fact: The movie Dangerous Minds with Michelle Pfeiffer is based on the English teacher at Carlmont high school in the academy program. Though I have the Michelle Pfeiffer position, I haven't watched the entire movie...

I am very excited to be enrolled in this class. This is my eighth class in the EDTECH program, and I've come to realize that my favorite classes involve creating lessons that can be used in my classroom. So I'm hoping that EDTECH 513 will give me an opportunity to develop multimedia lessons that will spice up the curriculum. I'd like to expand my creative outlets and a course on multimedia might be just what I've been looking for.

Barry Janzen - Why Multimedia?

Hi Everyone! My name is Barry Janzen. I am a high school teacher from Victoria, BC. I teach English, Media Arts, and Photography in a school of about 1000 students. Given my background, it seemed logical to take the Multimedia elective in the journey to my MET degree. I have worked with video and editing way back to the days of using two VCR's and have evolved, along with the technology, to using non-linear digital editing in both Media Arts and English classes. I have seen first hand the benefit and impact of documentary film making in core curriculum classes as culminating projects in Project Based Learning to demonstrate knowledge and understanding, while building an educational artifact students can be proud of. It is commonly understood that one of the best ways to demonstrate understanding is to teach it to someone else; this is the focus of the documentary film.

Over the past 23 years of teaching it has become more and more clear that students need to be presented with differentiated learning strategies and the use of multiple forms of media can help to reach the visual, auditory, and tactile learners. It has become harder to engage students in the digital age, therefore it is my hope that through this course I will find strategies to help increase engagement and impact through the use of multimedia.

Last year I entered and won a national video contest on 21st Century Digital Classrooms sponsored by the Mindshare Learning report. It gives a pretty clear run down of my philosophy and strategies in the use of multimedia and integrating technology into my English classes. Have a look!

Tracy Lloyd Introduction - Hello from Snowy Nelson, BC, Canada

Hi everyone.  I'm really looking forward to getting started in EDTECH 513.  My background is mainly in design (i.e. graphic design, digital signage ad design, interior design) with my most recent interest and focus being instructional design.  I became interested in instructional design while working as a graphic designer for an online organization that provides e-learning for people with disabilities who want to gain some web design skills and/or start a new business.  In addition to providing graphics for the courses and website, I also became involved in editing the courses.  It was this experience that led me to Boise State and the EDTECH program.  I also have an interest in online teaching and will be adding the teaching certificate to my degree.

I have been slowly plugging along one or two courses at a time since 2009 and will be finished my last course this summer.  I am currently working on my portfolio at the same time as EDTECH 513 although I'm wondering if I should have waited so that I can incorporate some of the artifacts from this course as well.  I'll try to slip at least one project in.

I live with my husband and daughter in beautiful Nelson, BC, Canada located in the South Eastern corner of British Columbia.  Nelson is knows for its amazing powder snow and this year is no exception.  If you ever get up to Nelson you need to stop by our local hill, Whitewater, for some great powder skiing.

Greetings from Jeff Toorongian

Hello from snowy Upper Michigan.  I’m Jeff Toorongian, and I’m part of an eLearning team at Michigan Technological University.  We support faculty who teach or are developing online and blended courses.  Services include instructional design, LMS training and support, and course content creation.  Training resources is an area that has been lacking at my institution and I hope that sharpening my multimedia production skills here in EDTECH 513 will benefit the training materials our team develops in the near future.

Winter Carnival statue from Michigan Tech University
Winter this year has been an off and on affair up north, which is NOT normal.  Recently however, we’ve received lots of fresh snow to keep our ski trails in great shape and supply material for our students who are hard at work building snow statues.  Our annual winter carnival celebration begin February 8.

I’m looking forward to learning with you this semester!

Tara Makani Miller: The Here and Now

Bangkok, Thailand - 2008
Hello All, my name is Tara Miller.  As I write my introduction, I sit in a warm cafe, on a cold, rainy day in Portland, Oregon.  I have been teaching technology education as an elective class in middle school for the past 6 years.  I am currently on an academic leave from my school this year to work on the MET program.  I have been in a very unique position in my teaching, where I have had the opportunity to fully designed my own program and curriculum, based on my personal skills.  My background and undergrad is in filmmaking and animation.  I have worked hard over the years to create a multifaceted program for my students to gain a number of technology based skills, with the primary goal of opening more possibilities for creativity and success in their "core" classes.  My other goal has been to give students experiences with a variety of multimedia tools that could also be a spark for personal interest or future career pathways.

I realized a couple of years ago that as a full-time teacher, I never had the time to really delve in to the upcoming tech trends and tools that my students need to be exposed to.  Unfortunately, our school does not provide students with any other technology training opportunities or give them many chances to use the tech skills they do gain.  My hope is that after working through this program, I can bring a new set of skills for my teaching and for my students to utilize.  I also want to create more technology training opportunities for the teachers in my district.

I am interested in EDTECH 513 because I use multimedia in my teaching, with no real training or research to support or enhance my methods.  I firmly believe that the use of multimedia in my teaching allows all of my student to be more successful in grasping and working with the content.  My classes contain the spectrum of skill levels, special needs and language acquisition.  I believe that moving beyond the traditional modes of teaching via lecture, textbooks and worksheets, allow more students to truly learn the material, based on their own personal learning styles.  The use of multimedia, when well designed, both engage and motivate learning.  As a bonus, it can help to create a more fun and creative learning environment for both teacher and students!

Robert Selzler-Intro

Hi, my name is Robert Selzler. I am currently support operations—read "help desk"—in a distance learning department at LCSC in Lewiston, Idaho. My background is in secondary education, and this is my third semester in the EdTech program; I hope to graduate next fall.

In this course, I look to gain new multimedia competencies primarily for course design. Our department will likely be hiring an additional instructional designer soon, and I am hoping to position myself to be a shoe-in. Further, I would like to engage in online secondary teaching—English is my content area—one the side, so I would also like to gain pedagogical as well as technical understanding.

Travesty Intro

This is my 3rd semester in the EdTech program.  I took 2 courses Summer 2011, 4 courses Fall 2011, and I'm doing 4 more courses this semester.  Needless to say I'm doing school full-time and substitute teaching to earn some dinero.  Before I became a full time student again I taught high school history and PE for 3 years.  My first year teaching was in Pleasant Grove, Utah where I was the cross country assistant coach. The last 2 school years I taught at Bear Lake High School in Montpelier, Idaho and I coached freshman girls basketball and was the varsity assistant.

I'm currently living in Logan, Utah and glad to be back.  I met my wife while going to school in Logan at Utah State University and I've been married for 7 years.  Family is very important to me. We have two beautiful boys (4 years old & 1 year old) who keep us busy.  We love the opportunities we have here compared to the small rural life in Idaho. My oldest son was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes when he was 2 and we have learned to live a lifestyle to help manage his disease.  We also started a charity 5k to help raise money to find a cure for diabetes:  http://idahocrazypancreas5k.blogspot.com/

I'm really enjoying everything I'm learning in the EdTech program and I can't wait to finish school again and start teaching again. I really love multimedia, especially as it pertains to education.  In high school I took the "Video Productions" course all 3 years advancing myself to produce the morning announcements every morning (which seemed like a big deal at the time).  I really want to learn how I can better utilize multimedia as a tool for education. I'm looking forward to working with all of you this semester. I embedded an intro video to me I created a few months ago showing a recap of the past 27 years.

Multimedia

I've had this class circled on my schedule since I began at Boise State a couple years ago.  I really believe that multimedia is a great, engaging way to reach students.  It seems like a tool that, when utilized effectively, can really make an impact.

I teach high school English, but since I also teach journalism, multimedia is doubly important for me.  To be a dynamic media teacher, a teacher needs to understand and use media dynamically.

I'm hoping this class will give me good strategies for integrating multimedia into teaching, but also introduce ideas that I can pass on to my journalism students.  I really look forward to this semester.

Larry Slade Intro

Rather than talk about me, I would like to share what we do at our "Brick n' Click" charter high school.
We produced this short video to help describe our online program.
This is why I love multimedia. Some ideas are just better communicated using multimedia than other formats.
I am taking this class because I enjoy multimedia production and want to learn how to best utilize it.

Dana Litwornia - Intro

Hi, I am currently teaching an after school program called Bricks for Kidz. The class starts with a lesson on math, science or history and we then create a Lego model on the lesson. The models have gears, motors, and remote controls. Its quite an amazing program and allows me the time I need for school and motherhood! I have an eleven year old son whom I raise alone, he is wonderful!

Last year I finished my BA in Elementary Education after a long career as a professional skier, That job took me around the world and back. I retired from skiing in 1999 as becoming a mother became my priority. I still coach skiing, snowboarding and tele skiing on occasion and have still found time to guide a trip down the Grand Canyon this past March. I have lived on Mt. Hood Oregon, Vermont and Alaska, however I am now “stuck” in ‘Dirty Jerzi’ ha! This is my home state and its close to mom and dad!

Besides that, I have been working in Europe as a photographer for an Atlas on Wine. I just got back last week after spending several weeks in the South of France, Germany and Belgium.

I am taking this class to help me learn how to utilize multimedia in a more effective way in the classroom. I hope to learn about podcast and how to use my new microphone!

Cheers!
Dana

Teresa Froehlke Intro

I live in Boise, Idaho.  I have a husband, a thirteen year old daughter and a ten year old son.   I worked for the State of Idaho for twenty years and then my position as a systems analyst supervisor was contracted to a private company.  I went back to school to become a certified special education teacher and realized I like working with technology and online courses more than a classroom.  I have two more courses and the portfolio before I am finished with the MET program.
When I have examined the job postings for online instructional design positions, many of the companies have expressed the requirement of multimedia knowledge. I am hopeful that this course will cover the multimedia knowledge that companies are requiring.
I am looking forward to creating a podcast and the digital story telling, these will be useful in developing online courses.  The direction that I would like to use my MET degree is in developing online adult education courses for skills used for a particular job.  The knowledge that I will gain from this course will help in designing  online courses that are engaging for learners.

Heather Mitchem intro

Thanksgiving @ my aunt's

Greetings from sunny Florida! My name is Heather and I currently teach VPK at a private school in downtown Orlando. Have 4 previous years of teaching experience in K-3rd grade.

I was interested in the class as soon as I read Multimedia. These last several months I have become more interested in ways to enhance my online presence as a teacher (if that makes sense). One of the things that interested me in this class was the podcasting assignment. I subscribe to many podcasts myself and I always thought it would be really great if I could do the same thing. I would also like to learn how to effectively integrate the various types of media into lessons and courses.  This semester will help me reach my goal in learning how to have more of an "educational" online presence, and becoming a more effective technology teacher.

Ryan Baker - Intro

My name is Ryan Baker. I graduated from Boise State in 2008 with a degree in political science and a minor in history. I'm certified to teach US Government, social studies and history but through various long term substitute jobs I've taught English, speech, photoshop 5th grade and a variety of social studies/history/government classes for the Nampa School District.

My wife, to whom I'll have been married 8 years this summer, is an English teacher for the Nampa School District. My hobbies and interests include graphic design, music, Bronco sports, cooking shows, and constitutional law.

History (and government) classes are all about telling a good story. However, simply delivering the story via lecture fails to capture the imagination or interest of most students. In taking the multimedia course, I hope to learn more and better ways of bringing the content alive and making it accessible to students of all learning abilities and interests.

Rob Straby's Intro

Since 1997 I have designed, developed or co-developed a range of courses across the CDP program. The online content has been primarily created in a ‘text-based’ format. My assessment of student needs is that the learning process could be enhanced through the addition of multimedia content. I am planning to create material for my current courses from what I learn in this course. Here are the outcomes I am hoping for this term. These involve applying what I do in EdTech 513 directly to two of my current courses:
1.     That 50% of the content of current Webinars in Career Exploration and Career Marketing courses will be replaced with multimedia content.
2.     That the multimedia products will be created and located such that they are accessible to students on mobile devices (e.g. podcasts could be downloaded to Smartphones).
3.     That Career Exploration and Career Marketing courses will have sufficient multimedia content to enable alternate faculty to teach them.
4.     That the Multimedia additions will enhance the learning outcomes of the students.
5.     That CDP faculty will be introduced to the benefits of multimedia and the pedagogical principles of design.
I look forward to learning and sharing with everyone!

Free Inquiry, Rational Discourse, Skepticism - Web 2.0

Why 513?
Although I have completed my portfolio and have, furthermore, fulfilled the requirements for the M.E.T. degree, I deduced that without having undergone Ed Tech 513, the degree would have fallen short of its potential. So, therefore, I am happy to be enrolled in this course and have no regrets with regard to extending my period of study by one semester.

Web 2.0 in Perspective:

My interests include the history of thought and the potential of the interactive feedback loop of knowledge and understanding made possible by Web 2.0. In that I am a student of the Enlightenment tradition, I am also of the opinion that recent developments in technology constitute a flowering of this convention to the degree that learning and the distribution of information has become interactive. This was recently exemplified when Wikipedia and Google engaged in a monumental protest against government censorship of the web. It appears that through their efforts, the SOPA legislation was halted. In other words, Web 2.0 has effectively created a format by which users can actively challenge presumptive authorities of tradition. We no longer receive our news from Cronkite, Brinkley and Chancellor, but, rather, can access a host of news sources which presents information after which having been viewed can be commented upon by simply logging in and joining an appended discussion forum.
I find all of this absolutely fascinating and am privileged to be engaged in the Tech movement!

Tammy's Intro

THE FLORAL INDUSTRY??
Most people who find out I'm getting my MET through Boise State are a bit shocked!  I'm a high school floriculture teacher!  I'm supposed to be all about "right-brain" stuff, being artsy and creative, not technology minded!!  But here I am with only one more semester after this one and I'm making it work.  What they don't understand is that the floral industry needs more technology.  I have several ideas in the back of my mind that could increase the number of people across the county, or even around the world, who could learn floral design.  There are several "distance" programs in floral schools for adults but they are pretty lame.  The instructor is recorded demonstrating and talking you through various design styles but its really geared toward that "mature" woman who always thought it would be "fun" to work in a flower shop.  We need to find the next generations floral designers and who knows where they are.  Most of them will be online and needing to be taught the basics in a distance program environment.

I want to learn to create interesting and intriguing podcasts and videos about floral design.  This is an area that I really struggle with and need to figure out all the logistics of it...you know, those "left-brain" things!  I want to bring floral design to those who don't have access to it.

CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION
I'm also interested in teaching teachers who are in a Career & Technical Education Certification Program that is mainly online. I earned my CTE certification this way through South Seattle Community College and am also on the Professional Education Advisory Committee for that program now.  There are many things I am learning at BSU that will improve the online experience in that program.

So there are really several reasons I chose EdTech 513 as an elective.  This should be an exciting semester for opening my mind to many more possibilities!

About Ted Finch

Why am I taking the class

One of the things that interested me in this class is the podcasting assignment.  I’ve listened to podcasts, but I’ve never created one.  I would really like to use podcasts as a method of delivering instruction and interviews for the online course I created in Ed Tech 512

I am also excited about the digital story telling assignment.  I am a writer and I am interested in looking at all of the publishing options that exist.

What do I expect to get out of the class

When i finish the class my goal is to be able to take with projects I can plug into my online course and have a digital story ready to publish for people to be able to read.

Hello All!

Hi EdTech Friends,
Name is Lana G. - instructor, student, designer and outdoors lover.
I am really excited to be learning with you and from you this semester. Although, I have a lot of experience in the world of visual design I have very little knowledge with the interactive and multimedia mediums. With all of the interactive "heavy hitter's" in this course (Doug B.-that's you), I just know there will be some amazing examples of stellar work. This semester I would really like to learn how to integrate various types of media (audio, video, web) to create interesting and effective learning experiences.
